At the just concluded March 2011 examination diet, CIS has successfully produced its first CIIA Graduate.
The CIIA certification is attained upon successful completion of the final level (papers 1 and 2) of the common knowledge examinations of the Association of Certified International Investment Analysts (ACIIA). CIS became a national/ regional Society of ACIIA in the year 2009, and has conducted three diets of the CIIA final examinations from March 2010 till date.
ACIIA is the international umbrella organisation for national and regional associations of investment professionals representing over 60,000 portfolio managers, analysts, investment advisers, asset managers and fund managers etc worldwide. Its role is to provide a flexible, internationally recognised qualification which examines candidates at a high standard and in a practical fashion in the global and local topic areas that are necessary to pursue a career in the investment profession.
In doing so, it strives to:
- Encourage and provide a forum for the creation and interchange of ideas and information in the finance and investment field.
- Support and promote the interests of the investment community.
- Promote ethical behaviour in the industry.
In the ten years since its inauguration, ACIIA membership has grown to thirty five associations worldwide. The members are spread throughout Asia, Europe, Central and South America, the Middle East and Africa and encompass a wide variety of languages, cultures and business customs.
